Fox Hunt

You are hereby invited by the Master Huntsman, The Earl of Morris Road, to partake in an afternoon of 15th century sport. The Fox Hunt is to be conducted at the grounds of Thunder Point Reserve on the 27th day of May. We do propose that you guise yourself in traditional Autumnal shades of plaid, stripe or floral.
The day’s hunt will commence with a Meet at 11:00am at which time all willing Foxes will sign on to the Master Huntsman’s register.

The Fox Hunt: The chase of a troop of foxes by a hound.

One by one the Foxes will be released across the fields into the woodlands of Thunder Point Manor with a call of “Tally-ho”.
The slowest Fox will be released first and given a sporting chance, followed by consecutive Foxes on a handicap system. After the last call, the Master Huntsman will sound his Bugle, releasing the Hound to chase down the Foxes.
The Hound will chase down each of its quarry, one by one. If a Fox is caught, they are out. Will any of the Foxes make it to the end?
Any Foxes that elude the Hound will be decorated and admired at the post hunt celebrations.
We shall convene at Thuder Point Manor upon the conclusion of the hunt, whereby we shall feast upon a traditional breakfast whilst telling tales of yesteryear around the fireplace.

Bring a gold piece or two for the post hunt feast!

Free Race Entry. Must present MTBA race licence.
